AITWA Delegation Met Kiren Rijiju, Minister for Law & Justice

A senior team of All India Transporters' Welfare Association (AITWA) under the leadership of Sh. Ramesh Agarwal, National President met honourable Law & Justice Minister Mr. Kiren Rijiju on May 5, 2022, and highlighted issues of robbery & loot on highways, late release of goods & vehicles in case the driver is caught with narcotics (without the knowledge of transporter and truck owner). The delegation also emphasized on the abolition of local security demand to release impounded vehicles and goods.

The honourable minister heard the issues patiently and assured to take up the matter with the concerned authorities to resolve.

The team also proposed probable solutions for all the issues.

Here's what AITWA members stage

For Highway Robberies boot cases:

  • To provide patrolling
  • Barricade on exits
  • To check the places to escape

For Release of Impounded Vehicle and Goods:

  • Should remove the old systems of local security
  • Should remove the old systems of local security
  • Issue guidelines to concerned authorities to accept Indemnity bonds like the states of Delhi & Madhya Pradesh or security of a national permit Truck.

 

For Catching Driver in possession of narcotics or contraband goods:

  • To release the Goods and seized vehicle without any delay
  • Why should the driver get bail but the vehicle & other goods are stuck, take strict action against the defaulted driver.
