Bihar: No fitness certificate during registration of new vehicle
Transport secretary Sanjay Kumar Agarwal said such vehicles will be deemed to be having certificate of fitness for a period of two years from the date of their registration.
PATNA: Now new vehicles will not have to undergo fitness clearanceevery year. According to the notification issued by transport department, no fitness certification will be required at the time of registration for new transport vehicles sold as fully built vehicles.
Transport secretary Sanjay Kumar Agarwal said such vehicles will be deemed to be having certificate of fitness for a period of two years from the date of their registration.
As per the new notification, the period for renewal of fitness certificate will be two years for vehicles registered up to eight years ago and one year for vehicles registered more than eight years ago.

“This new rule will benefit one million commercial vehicles operating in the state. It will also reduce corruption and increase efficiency”, said Agarwal.
